Music, music!!

This is the catalog of the albums I have made so far. For any comments or requests please write to macnight@inwind.it.
As to the music in itself, it is electronic music in the widest sense. Just like I don't understand (even if I obviously respect) the choice to live a life where every day is precisely like the previous one, I couldn't stand making only one kind of music. Life is fortunately made of so many different emotions, so many different experiences, so many different stages, so many different thoughts, that I just couldn't force myself to express only one single aspect of it.Therefore, be prepared to find all kinds of stuff in my records. In some of them you can find it all, while others are more consistent in style, but I sure don't like to play the same kind of thing over and over.
To have a rough idea of what they sound like, just click on the covers to be taken to each record's individual page where you'll find plenty of one-minute excerpts to listen to.
Please note: my albums are no longer available on CDr. The ever-increasing cost of materials, the time it takes to assemble a CDr, and the continually rising shipping and handling costs have made it not just impractical, but even a financial loss for me. But you can download all of my records for free, both as MP3 and WAV files, so be my guest :) However, the risk with downloads is that one will only listen to separate tracks and not to the album as a whole. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to the albums from beginning to end, otherwise it'll be like reading only some chapters of a book: the story and the meaning will disappear. Today's shallowness and lazyness have made the very concept of album vanish: please, let's bring it back together.

PLEASE NOTE: not all the zip files - which contain both the music files and the cover files - decompress into a properly named folder, so please make sure you create a folder with the name of the album you are downloading to unzip it into it. That will prevent the files from scattering around your hard disk. I am now re-uploading them all to eliminate this problem, but it'll take a while, so please bear with me.

Another thing: I'm in the process of tagging all of the MP3 files (which I hadn't when I uploaded them the first time), but that will take some time as well, so please for now tag the untagged ones yourselves.

I called this series of albums "Classic EM" (EM stands for Electronic Music) because they find their origins in the classic EM of the 70's, especially that of German musicians such as Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, etc. This genre has been given many names over the years - cosmic music, krautrock, and more - but it is now generally called "Berlin School".
Please don't expect an imitation of the bands I mentioned above, as I obviously put into my music what comes out of my soul and even if I chose to use this form of expression I have no interest in being a clone. So, yes, it is Berlin School, but also - and especially - my music, whether good or bad.

This series of albums features music that doesn't fit into one genre, but freely moves through different forms of expressions without any limit - hence the definition "Just Music".
The material you will find in these albums is sometimes harder and sometimes easier to listen to (some might even be considered almost "commercial") compared to my other "series," but all these albums profoundly express my feelings and experiences nevertheless, so please listen with your heart and soul fully open and with no prejudice.

			SPACE ADVENTURES: a new trilogy!! Yes, a new trilogy! The set of the first chapter is a far-off outpost manned by some strange individuals who have chosen to live there, on that remote rock orbiting around a small sun. Why? Well, that's pretty much their business, but we can live with that, can't we?

		SCI-FI series "The Last City" begins a series about science fiction (more "modern" than the "Space Adventures" series and its 40's to 60's atmospheres). The story behind the album belongs to the "survivors" subgenre (something real bad happened to our planet and the plot is about the survivors). In this case, world war three had just started when - as a consequence of the weapons used - a global-scale earthquake devastated the Earth, generating a bible-like flood to boot. All cities on the planet crumbled to dust, except one: Zareth... You can continue the story in any way you like to imagine it :)
THE LAST CITY (2007) 9 tracks, min. 43.11 available as free download click on the cover for details self-release		I composed the music for "The Last City" in 1990 and put it down on tape using what little gear I had back then, hoping to be able to record it decently one day. I was always very fond of this project, so it was particularly exciting for me to make it finally happen. This is part of my decision to give a final form to the huge amount of material I have composed along the years and that's just been sitting on a shelf and waiting to be recorded for way too long...

			I liked horror stories even as a child, but it was during the 80's that - like most teenagers - I was totally fascinated by horror. Perhaps it's kids' way to get acquainted with the real horrors in life, or maybe it's some ancestral necessity to witness what would be natural violence if we still were what we actually are and delude ourselves into thinking we're not: beasts. Whatever the case, horror seems to be an ingredient of most teenagers' lives...

This series of albums is a tribute to horror films (especially those from the '80's), both the bad ones and the good ones, and it's made for the same reason why I went to see those movies as a teenager: fun (and some undefinable other reason...)!

When I was a kid and only made music for myself and a couple of very patient friends who listened to my audiocassettes, I also liked making "singles" on tape, even if my dream (that never came true, of course) was to release them on vinyl, the classic and awesome 45 rpm's.
Having grown so used to recording full albums, I didn't think of singles until, in 2008, I found myself with a handful of tracks I liked but didn't fit in any of the albums I was working on. So I collected those and a few alternate versions of album tracks on my first "single". I didn't plan to make it available, though, it was just for myself. However, in 2009 I made an album of covers that, at the time of writing, I haven't been able to release due to the absurd red tape of the Italian copyright office. That album also featured two tracks that didn't need copyright clearance, as they were covers of two wondrous tracks by E=motion (aka Jacek Spruch from Poland) who kindly gave me permission to record them. I wanted these to be available, so I made a free download single for them and thought I could make the first one available, too, while I was at it. So the "CD single series" is here, now - enjoy! :)
