The aliens you can see in this picture are a band called Rockets. During the 70's and 80's they were pretty damn big here. They wore crazy extraterrestrial costumes, painted their faces and bald heads in silver, created live shows so daring and spectacular to the point of being a bit dangerous, wrote and played songs about space and aliens (which, like all good science fiction, were often metaphors or excuses to talk about deeper issues). The quality of their amazing space rock music - while remaining within the boundaries of commercial music for the most part - was outstanding and vastly underestimated. They earned the eternal affection of many fans who - just like me - still carry their notes inside their souls. I've chosen the Rockets to represent all the musicians and the music I have loved and that have made me dream, escape, carried me deep into myself, taught me to make music, comforted me, seen me thru bad times, enetertained me, and all the other things that music can do for a person. Thank you all.
